Instagram is an app that allows you to easily integrate your smartphone’s camera with a number of social networking utilities.
With Instagram, you can apply a number of filters to your camera photos, then link these photos to Facebook, Flickr and Tumblr. Instagram is supported on the iOS and Android operating systems. If you do not have a device that uses one of these operating systems, you will not be able to use the full array of Instagram features.
Android
Connect your Android device to a wireless Internet connection or mobile data network. Tap the Google Play Store shortcut on your Android desktop. Tap the magnifying glass icon. This opens the search bar.
Type “Instagram” into the search bar and tap “Enter.” Tap “Instagram” in the search results. This will bring you to the Instagram app page. Tap the “Install” button. This will bring up the list of permissions that the Instagram app requires in order to run. Tap “Accept” to begin the Instagram installation.
iOS
Connect your iOS device to a wireless Internet connection or mobile data network. Tap the App Store icon on your iOS desktop. Tap the “Search” button. Type “Instagram” into the search field, then tap “Search.” Tap “Instagram” in the search results. Tap “Install” in the Instagram page.
Tips & Warnings
- You can log in to your Instagram account via an Internet browser, but you will not be able to take pictures.
